ADHD Investigation and Management
The local Integrated Care Board (ICB) who are responsible for planning and Commissioning local health services, has recently commissioned new teams to take on ADHD assessments for our patients. These teams will be able to assess you for the condition, start treatments if required and once stabilised on treatment, care can be continued by Robert Frew going forwards under a shared care agreement.
If you feel you need to be assessed for this disorder, please complete an e-consult asking for ADHD assessment and submit it to the surgery. A member of the team shall then contact you to support you further.
On occasion we receive letters from private psychiatrists asking for us to continue with ADHD management and monitoring for patients they have seen and started on treatment. Whilst we support and recognise that the patients need treatment for their Adult ADHD management, regrettably this service is not funded or contracted by the NHS to take over management from non-commissioned teams. In order to have care continued by your GP, you will need to be assessed by an ICB commissioned team.
Children must be referred by their schools/colleges for the assessment and management of ADHD. This is completed by the community paediatric team who then see the patients regularly for follow ups.
